Chantal Kumar is the founder and designer for the kidswear brand, Chandamama, which stands for moon in Hindi. With a background in diplomacy, Chantel studied fashion at The Parsons School of Design while working for The United Nations in New York.
Chandamama was conceptualized as a product of her inspiration from her travel diaries and her prominent love for India and its craft. The use of natural Indian fabrics incorporated with ancient techniques of hand embroidery, natural dyeing and wood block printing result in clothing that is beautiful, safe and comfortable for babies and kids. The Chandamama line is completely handmade and finished in India and donates a portion of profits in support of child care projects in India.
